A Letter to the Camden Courier Post Editorial Board Regarding Information about Public Contracts

Dear Editor,

In your January 19, 2012 editorial, "Worker Contracts Should be Online," you argue that public sector collective bargaining agreements should be available on line.  They are.  In addition to the fact that most public sector unions have their contracts on their websites, the New Jersey Public Employee Relations Commission (PERC) has all public sector agreements in downloadable format. You can find them here: http://www.perc.state.nj.us/publicsectorcontracts.nsf.

CWA is in favor of this level of transparency and we would like to see all public contracts available to the public, including every contract from every public entity that outsources public sector work and all of the sweetheart no bid agreements for "professional services."

Yours truly,

Hetty Rosenstein
New Jersey Director
