CWA Activists Double Down on Efforts to Educate Lawmakers about Anti-Worker "Toolkit"

CWA activists from all over the state continued the push to educate lawmakers about Chris Christie’s anti-worker “Toolkit” legislation working its way through the state legislature. Following news from State Senate President Sweeney (D-Deptford) that the Senate plans to vote on “Toolkit” proposals in September and October, CWAers doubled down on their efforts to get the message out.

Marty Mosen, a member of Local 1036 and a DEP worker, summed up Christie’s attacks on Civil Service in his meeting with Senator Beach on Tuesday: “The basic fairness of the workplace, you’re eroding that fairness. And that makes the job less attractive to quality people.”

Activists met with several other legislators to discuss concerns with the “Toolkit” this week, including Assemblyman Prieto (D-Seacaucus), Assemblyman Conaway (D-Delanco), and Senator Norcross (D-Camden). For more information about how you can get involved, or to tell us your story about what you and your coworkers are doing to keep the pressure on your legislators, click here.
