Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO Made $8.7 Million Last Year; Will Get a $145,000 Income Tax Cut Under Christie
Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield CEO William Marino made $8.7 million last year, even as the company lost money and increased premiums on consumers.
Despite the company losing revenue and increasing costs to consumers, the New Jersey insurance giant gave its nine highest-paid executives a 61% increase in pay. Collectively, those nine people took home $24.3 million last year, compared with $15.1 million the year before.
In the comments section, tell us which is more outrageous:
- The fact that Marino made $8.7 million for failing; or
- The fact that Chris Christie is going to give him a $145,190 tax cut as he increases your taxes.
