80% of NJ Schools Will have Larger Class Sizes This Year, Parents to Pay Extra for Buses, Activities

80% of schools in New Jersey will have fewer teachers this year than last year, according to a survey completed by the New Jersey School Boards Association on August 9. That number includes 16% of New Jersey schools who say they will cut 10% or more of their teachers.

Assemblyman Paul Moriarty called a roundtable discussion in Trenton last Thursday to discuss a bil, S2206, that would allow management to unilaterally furlough public workers for nearly any reason.  CWA was there, making the case that all furloughs must be bargained.
